Latest InContext entrants named

Channelling the latest interior design trends in the hope of gaining further industry renown, a new crop of contestants are currently preparing to bring their design magic to the first ever Melbourne InContext competition at Furnitex next month.

Following the success of InContext at the Australian International Furniture Fair in Sydney earlier this year, Furnitex organisers have sourced six identical chairs, this time the Hex model in Bamboo Board with Stainless Steel Legs – supplied by studiohip.com.au (pictured left), and have invited six interior designers to put a chair each ‘in context’ with the latest interior design trends.

This year’s designers are: Amanda Richmond of Amanda Richmond Interior Design; Trudy Allsopp of Colour Confidence Interiors (pictured right); Diane Bergeron of Diane Bergeron Interiors; Dominique Hunter of Hunter and Richards; Jacquie Pask of Moss Melbourne and Sally Anderson of Niche Interiors.

With a brief to design and present their ‘InContext’ chair within the space of a standard industrial pallet and as visualised in an Australian home, the results of the competition will form a major feature at the upcoming Decoration + Design trade fair, taking place from 15-18 July at Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Attending journalists will be invited to vote for the best design, with winner to be recognised with a trophy.
