At the recent International Furniture Fair Singapore, the Lounge Innovation stand acted like a magnet. “Are they the real thing?” visitors asked as they stared in fascination at the exotic pieces upholstered in crocodile, kangaroo, emu and ostrich hides.

Indeed they were. And the Downunder range is like to repeat its Singapore success when it has its Australian launch at Furnitex.

“We’ll also be presenting our new Swarovski Crystallized collection,” reveals Tanya Menna, wife and right-hand woman of Lounge Innovation’s founder, Tony Menna. “We’ve secured the rights from Swarovski to use their brand name.”

The collaboration between the famous Austrian crystal company and the Western Australian furniture favourite has produced a stunner: a luxurious four-piece seating range embellished with the precision-cut crystals.

Trained in Perth as an upholsterer, Tony established Lounge Innovation in 1985. Today, the multi-award-winning family firm has a 10,000 sq. ft. hi-tech plant in Bassendean, WA and employs more than 90 craftspeople, designers and customer service staff.

“We’re selling throughout most of Southeast Asia – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Vietnam – and have had an export showroom in Dubai for the past three years,” says Tanya, who acts as national sales director.

“We use only sustainable timbers and all the Downunder hides, from farms in the Northern Territory and Queensland, have been certified by the Australian Government.”

Fabulous to see a range of farmed animals used in this collection. It’s ECO safe and sustainable as well as being beautifully presented and detailed. The quality of craftmanship is unequalled
