Out There Furniture: Pivotal metal and glass

12 July 2021

Out There FurnitureWhen Peter Jennings began his company Out There Furniture almost a decade ago, he soon opted for a deliberate point of difference.

“Initially, we dabbled in timber, then found every man and his dog in Australia were doing it, so we decided to go for a niche market,” the affable Queenslander recalls. Modern dining settings, bar stools and occasional chairs were his inspired choice. Today, he sells across Australia and New Zealand, and serves both the domestic and commercial markets with edgy imported metal and glass designs whose palette includes vibrant colours.

“We’ve moved upmarket over the years and our latest range, to be shown at Furnitex, features stainless steel instead of chrome,” says Peter.

“There are numerous stainless steel features in contemporary homes, especially in kitchens, so the range blends well. Our stools are especially versatile as they swivel and are dining table height.”

Also on show will be a sharp new range of pub and gaming stools. They should prove popular. Out There Furniture already supplies 200 restaurants.
