Tubeworks Furniture: A singular vision

14 June 2021

The new dining range chosen by Tubeworks as its star attraction at Furnitex, will feature high gloss timber tables and upholstered stainless steel chairs.

“They’re spectacular,” enthuses Peter Joffe, the normally low-key managing director of the Melbourne company synonymous with ultra-sleek contemporary design. “It’s a very different look for us – the next step ahead for Tubeworks.”

The giant leap happened when the company that had previously specialised in bar stools changed hands and direction some seven years ago. Gleaming metals and glass, clean lines and bold use of colour – the reborn Tubeworks swiftly made its mark in the residential, commercial and educational sectors with its sharp, competitively priced furniture.

“We go to the major fairs all over the world and pick and choose pieces that suit our style,” says Peter.

“Often we adapt them for Australia and New Zealand. We also design certain pieces ourselves – mainly tables and occasional furniture such as TV units.”
